Aerial Acoustics was founded in 1991…

By Michael Kelly and David Marshall in Boston, Massachusetts. Michael’s undergraduate degree is in physics with a Master’s from MIT. Michael and David had worked together previously at Analog and Digital Systems where Michael was executive vice president and David was in engineering.

Aerial’s first product was the Model 10T with its unique cast-in-house Novalith® stone head and Kevlar sandwich midrange. The iconic 10T was Stereophile Speaker of the Year in 1996.

Aerial went on to develop a full line of critically acclaimed high performance models including outstanding center speakers and powered subwoofers. Today this has become the highly regarded 5T/6T/7T/7CC family. These models have received numerous excellent reviews.

The pinnacle of Aerial’s design to date is the exceptional Model 20T V2 with its true ribbon tweeter, twin carbon fiber sandwich woofers and massive constrained-layer inert cabinet. Although now discontinued, the 20T V2 provides the foundation for future designs.

All Aerial products including all current products without exception have always been designed, engineered and assembled by us here at our modern factory in Massachusetts by devoted and highly skilled long-time employees. We have a wonderful crew.

We use the best parts from all over the world. Almost all of our drivers are expensive and custom-made to our precise performance specifications in Denmark, Norway, USA or Germany. These fully optimized custom drivers with our precision-engineered networks are keys to achieving the exceptional levels of performance provided in our products.

Other parts come from other places around the world including today some cabinets from Asia. We choose our suppliers very carefully based on the best technology and quality available anywhere in the world. Over the past 10 years most US and Danish speaker cabinet companies have closed. Today the quality of our heavy, curved, laminated, thick-walled, well-braced, very expensive, beautifully finished and acoustically inert cabinets easily exceeds that of our previous cabinets.

The accompanying photos show our modern factory near Boston. We take great pride in the design, consistent high quality construction and individual testing of every single speaker we make.

We are dedicated to continuing to provide exceptional performance and sonic fidelity, excellent engineering, high value, handsome design, responsive customer service and long-term satisfaction in every product we build.
