Aerial Acoustics System 1 Subwoofer & Amplifier
The Aerial S1 Subwoofer system produces powerful, extended, articulate bass, providing the foundation for great music and film experiences. Slightly less than 12" deep and with its dual drive units facing forward, the S1 Subwoofer is perfect for music and home theater systems in which high-performance bass reproduction is essential, but interior or system design factors require the subwoofer system to be tucked near the wall or built into the environment. Whether simply placed at the room’s perimeter, installed in custom cabinetry, or built into the wall, the S1 Subwoofer performs with finesse, authority and unbridled dynamics.
At the heart of the S1 Subwoofer system lie twin 10.6" long-stroke drivers in rigid cast aluminum frames. Their stiff yet lightweight Kevlar®-Nomex® composite cones are driven by massive motor systems which feature oversized 4-layer hightemperature voice coils and high-gauss magnet structures. Together, these impressive drivers provide more air moving capacity than do many 15" woofers and with far greater control, responsiveness, and power handling capacity. The system’s 12" deep enclosureis constructed of 1" MDF with extensive internal bracing which provides excellent stiffness, low resonance, and freedom from cabinet-induced coloration.
A dedicated outboard electronics unit combines a high-output amplifier with precision crossover filters and system-specific equalization. With its massive power supply and generous array of output devices, the amplifier generates more than 600 watts of continuous power with ample dynamic headroom for extended signal peaks. Its carefully crafted discrete circuit design is fully balanced, resulting in outstanding response and exceptionally low noise. Precision dual-channel high- and low-pass filter networks are provided as are other valuable controls. Very compact given its 46 pounds, the chassis is a mere 11" deep; with its recessed input/output terminals and thermally efficient design, it can be placed in tight spaces with as little as 12" of front-to-back clearance.
The S1 Subwoofer is a natural complement to an Aerial multi-channel system, or to any other high-performance system where uncompromising low frequency reproduction is desired.
